Disability Employment Awareness Month: Fish Creek Nissan
October is Disability Employment Awareness Month, and we are highlighting Alberta employers who demonstrate leadership in including individuals with developmental disabilities in their organizations.
Fish Creek Nissan in Calgary hired an individual with a developmental disability in 2017. Steven has been a valued team member ever since. Steven’s duties include maintaining the dealership, delivery bays and service area as well as high touch point sanitizing during the pandemic. Mike Brown, Fish Creek Nissan’s General Sales Manager, says that it’s been win-win for all involved: Steven has a meaningful job that he loves, and Fish Creek Nissan has a committed and loyal employee!
“We could not have asked for a better employee,” says Mike. “There is no doubt that by hiring through the Rotary Employment Partnership, you are not only going to find an excellent employee, but someone who makes a difference in everybody’s lives.”
