Disability Employment Awareness Month: Canadian Western Bank

October 1, 2021

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) and we are highlighting Alberta employers who demonstrate leadership in including individuals with developmental disabilities in their organizations.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Canadian Western Bank’s Project Management Office hired Madison as a full-time Administrative Assistant. She was trained remotely and has been working virtually from home along with her other colleagues.

Cathy Weston, Senior Manager, PMO Governance and Operations, Project Management Office for Canadian Western Bank says Madison has been an excellent addition to the team.

“Madison has worked with our team for over 6 months. In that time, she’s become a valuable contributor to our team and is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. She’s hardworking, enthusiastic, and never shies away from a new challenge. Recently, my team was asked to participate in a lengthy period of testing for one of our applications being upgraded and Madison agreed to give testing a try. Well…she didn’t just get the job done, she was a rock star. The work was done incredibly well, and finished in half of the expected time. I think we have ourselves a lead for future testing in our area!”
