“If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise” – Robert Fritz
Join us in a session where we unpack the value of crafting a compelling vision as a means of ensuring a meaningful and inclusive life in the community for your loved one. A vision can serve as a beacon, ensuring actions and support are tailored to your family member’s goals, fostering inclusion and a normative path, while safeguarding against a life on a special or segregated course. The efforts and plans that are necessary to create a good life stem directly from the vision created by families with their family member. Regardless of someone’s abilities, age or stage of life, creating or refining a vision will help with navigating the route toward ensuring a fulfilling life.
This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the steps involved in crafting a life-enhancing vision. Participants will be guided through the initial plans and steps needed to move forward and towards an inclusive life, especially when utilizing formal support. Particularly, understanding how the flexibility of FMS or FSCD supports can be tailored to the vision you have for your family member. We aim to equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to consider and create a future for your loved one that is inclusive and meaningful.
Families and FMS staff are encouraged to attend. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
