CTV Calgary: Inclusion Alberta seeking companies to employ workers with intellectual disabilities
CTV Calgary recently profiled Jarod Wood’s job at ATCO Gas in Airdrie, one that he recently secured with the support of Inclusion Alberta’s Rotary Employment Partnership.
Jarod is one of 7 employees with an intellectual disability that inclusive employer ATCO has hired across the province. ATCO has filled a wide variety of positions in areas such as general labour, shop assistant in their automotive shop, admin at their corporate office, and kitchen assistant at their renowned Blue Flame Kitchen.
We have a long list of skilled and talented job seekers, but not enough employers willing to give them a chance. Learn more about tapping into this valuable workforce and hiring someone with an intellectual disability with the support of Inclusion Alberta’s Rotary Employment Partnership. The Partnership was developed over 20 years ago by Inclusion Alberta CEO Emeritus, parent and Rotarian Bruce Uditsky and parent (and now Inclusion Alberta’s Chief Operating Officer) Wendy McDonald to create real jobs for real pay for adults with intellectual disabilities. To date, the Partnership has created over 800 jobs across Alberta.
