Inclusion Alberta presents its 2025 Family Conference, April 11-12 at the Fantasyland Hotel in Edmonton, AB! Discounted Early Bird ticket pricing is in effect until February 28th.
The Inclusion Alberta Family Conference is a time for individuals with intellectual disabilities, their families, allies and support staff as well as those working in the disability and education fields to come together and learn from keynote speakers and other experienced families. It’s a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge and commitment to assisting children and adults with intellectual disabilities to live fully inclusive and meaningful lives in their community. The Conference is the largest and longest standing of its kind in the world and offers fully-inclusive onsite child and teen care so parents and guardians can enjoy the Conference worry-free.
The Conference features two full-day workshops on Friday: Paula Kluth‘s ‘Joyful Learning: Active and collaborative strategies to differentiate instruction in inclusive classrooms’ and Lisa Drennan‘s ‘Inclusive Recreation: Creating a culture of welcoming, participating, and belonging‘ and a variety of morning and afternoon sessions to choose from on Saturday.

Paula Kluth inclusive education workshop
Inclusion Alberta invites school and district leaders, teachers, consultants, policy makers, school board members, educational assistants, and parents to hear from this distinguished educator and inclusive education leader.
A “one-size-fits-all” approach to lesson planning can leave some learners struggling to participate and teachers feeling they haven’t reached all of their students. In this interactive session, participants will explore collaborative, active, and brain-compatible differentiated learning techniques that engage students and make learning joyful.
Lisa Drennan inclusive recreation workshop
Inclusion Alberta invites all those engaged in organizing, leading, providing and participating in community recreational activities, including families of children and adults with intellectual disabilities and support staff to hear from this distinguished speaker.
In this dynamic and interactive workshop Lisa Drennan will share practical information, processes, and tools to advance authentic inclusive recreation. Lisa will share the 6 key principles that guide inclusive recreation and share a range of strategies that can be employed for inclusive recreation to be welcoming and successful.
In addition to the workshops and sessions listed, the Inclusion Alberta Family Conference offers several fun opportunities for you to socialize, network and build relationships and connections with other attendees as well as speakers, including at Friday night’s President’s Reception and Saturday evening’s Family Dance Celebration.

TICKET OPTIONS: Tickets are available here on Eventbrite. There are several individual ticket options available, for either a full Conference or single day experience. Additional attendees in a family or group are $50 per person. Discounted Early Bird ticket pricing is in effect until February 28th.
FREE SUPPORT PERSON ADMISSION: Persons attending to support another registrant are not charged registration fees. Please add a ‘support person’ ticket in the ‘add-ons’ section to add a free support person ticket.
YOUTH FOR INCLUSION: Youth aged 16-22, with or without disabilities, committed to social justice, action, advocacy and inclusion are invited to join us Saturday, April 12th for a full day workshop!
Tickets are $30 and lunch is provided. Space is limited so please register early.
CHILDCARE/TEEN CLUB: Onsite fully-inclusive child care/Teen Club programming is available and can be purchased for $25/day per child/teen as an ‘add-on’ to your ticket.

GRANT APPLICATION: Inclusion Alberta has a limited number of grants available to individuals and families to assist with costs associated with attending the conference. Grant applications can be submitted here. **IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR A GRANT, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR CONFERENCE TICKET(S) YET. Grant application deadline: February 28, 2025. Applicants will be notified of their grant status by March 15, 2025.
