Healthcare Masks and Self Managed Care

April 15, 2020

Consistent with guidance provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada and Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is implementing a continuous masking strategy, in addition to use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as part of droplet and contact precautions.

Inclusion Alberta and the Darrell Cook Family Managed Supports Resource Centre are sharing this update so any individuals and families utilizing self managed care and home care, whether through an agency or private hire, can have more information about who should be wearing a mask and other PPE and how to find out more information. All healthcare workers should be wearing masks, in both designated health care settings and community settings.

You can find the AHS Guidelines for Continuous Masking in Healthcare settings as a PDF for reading online or to download.

For community settings where PPE supplies are required, please contact Alberta Health Services: cpsmoperations.eoc@ahs.ca
