Report of the PDD Review Panel
PDD Review Panel releases its engagement report
Yesterday, in releasing the Report of the PDD Review Panel, Minister Sawhney acknowledged “the importance of listening to families, PDD recipients and advocates” and stated that this report set the stage for “an incredible opportunity to collaborate with the disability community.” We sincerely appreciate the Minister’s acknowledgement of the importance of listening to families, individuals and advocates and trust this will be reflected in the actions that follow. We hope to see guaranteed family and advocate representation with respect to the announced forums.
We understand, as well, the value of the recent establishment of the Service Provider Partnership Committee and have sought, from this and the past government, the re-establishment of a family advisory committee and hope this will be forthcoming in the near future.
We look forward to working and collaborating with Minister Sawhney on improvements to the PDD program and the implementation of the UCP platform commitments.
