Donate Household Items to AACL

May 24, 2012

With spring  cleanup season well underway it?s time to donate items to support the work of the Alberta Association for Community Living.

?AACL has experienced a reduction in the funding it receives from various government departments due to Alberta’s economic challenges,? says Bruce Uditsky, CEO of AACL. ?At the same time we are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of families and individuals with developmental disabilities approaching AACL for assistance.  For the first time in decades we now have a waiting list of families needing assistance and this is growing daily.?

To support the work of AACL those in Edmonton or Calgary (or located within 45 minutes of these cities) can make a contribution by calling 1-800-252-7556 or 403-531-3080 for Calgary and area, and 780-452-2121 for Edmonton and area.

Items that are in need includes: books, magazines, toys, games, puzzles, jewelry, crafts, mugs, pots, pans, candles, candle holders, pictures, picture frames, utensils, small garden tools, china, vases, dishes, cutlery, stuffed animals, glassware, silverware, stemware, baskets, ornaments, hand tools, toasters, toaster ovens, mixers, DVDs, CDs, power tools, blenders, small stereos, computer software, CD players, small speakers, irons, etc.

?We thank everyone who makes a donation and supports families through this effort,? says Uditsky.
