SUMMARY:FMS Series: Creating & Facilitating Relationships Through Community Engagement (Grande Prairie)
DESCRIPTION:Inclusion Alberta Family Resource Centre – Grande Prairie & Area presents: THE FMS LEARNING SERIES 2022/2023: \nCreating & Facilitating Relationships Through Community Engagement\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Wednesday\, November 2\, 2022 | 7pm – 9pm \nWhere: Al Robertson Room Centre 2000\, 11330 106 St\, Grande Prairie \nWorkshop Presenter: TBA\nTo register: Register online here\, or contact Laura at 780-882-9477 or FRC-GP@inclusionalberta.org \nFinding pathways to relationships is a lifelong journey. For people with developmental disabilities\, it may require thoughtful reflection\, strategic planning and intentional facilitation. Relationships and friendships open doors to new worlds\, helps discover self-identity and interests\, and provides natural support when we need it. A significant role for staff hired by families through FMS or FSCD is not to be a paid friend\, but to be the bridge to freely given friendships and relationships. \nThis session will explore: \n• The meaning and power of natural pathways \n• Capitalizing on individual interests and linking them to community opportunities \n• The Role of the Facilitator \n• Strategies for facilitating relationships in our community \nFamilies\, Self-Advocates\, and FMS Staff are welcome to attend. \nLight snacks and refreshments will be provided. \nREGISTER ONLINE HERE\nDownload full PDF poster here
