Employment has a central role in most people’s lives, offering purpose and meaning to one’s life, in addition to an income. The vast majority of individuals with developmental disabilities can be successfully employed at least part-time and many full-time. The resources available through FMS can be effectively utilized to both create employment possibilities and to provide on-the-job supports to ensure success, when and where needed. More and more employers are demonstrating a willingness and recognizing the benefits of hiring individuals with developmental disabilities.
The session will cover:
- Engaging Employers
- Creating employment possibilities based on the interests of the individual
- Facilitating natural supports in an employment setting
Families and FMS staff are encouraged to attend.
Workshop Presenter: Wendy McDonald
The first 100 people to sign in will be able to join.
