The Hidden Job Market: Help Make Connections

The Hidden Job Market: Help Make Connections

August 3, 2021

Approximately 70% of all jobs are not published publicly and as many as 80% of jobs are filled through personal and professional connections. As individuals with developmental disabilities are often isolated and lacking access to these professional networks, allies in the business community can make a huge difference in someone’s life by helping make these connections in the Rotary Employment Partnership!

Do you know someone whose business is re-opening and are looking for staff?

As the province opens up, we are hearing of more and more businesses who are having a hard time finding staff. At the Rotary Employment Partnership, we have a full workforce of job seekers across the province who are ready, willing and able to work in a variety of industries from food service to administration to labour, and everywhere in between. You could be the connection to potential jobs for individuals with developmental disabilities and the answer to the businesses in our community who are looking for dedicated, reliable staff. Let’s take advantage of the power of networking and the relationships we have within our workplaces and our communities to create the opportunity for someone to secure meaningful employment.

We need your help to start those initial conversations with those in your network who are in a position to hire and ask if they would be interested in hiring inclusively through the Rotary Employment Partnership. There has never been a better time to introduce the partnership to those in your personal and professional network!

Find more information on the Rotary Employment Partnership here, and if you’re willing to make some connections that will make a positive difference in both the business community and the lives of job-seekers with developmental disabilities, please reach out!
