Disability Employment Awareness Month: Clark Builders

October 28, 2021

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month, and we are highlighting Alberta employers who demonstrate leadership in including individuals with developmental disabilities in their organizations.

Long-time inclusive employers Clark Builders hired Ian through the Rotary Employment Partnership as a full-time labourer on their construction team for the Dr. Anne Anderson High School in Edmonton. While the project wrapped up earlier this year, they have kept Ian employed on another high-profile project where he continues to experience success.

Clark Builders Superintendent Cory Snell says that Ian immediately became a contributing and valuable member of the team, eager to learn and tackle any task given to him.

“At Clark Builders, we believe everyone should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential and experience job satisfaction,” says Cory. “Everyone has skills and limitations, and it all depends on how you utilize people’s unique talents and ambitions.”

Thank you Clark Builders for being a community leader in inclusive employment! Learn more about becoming an inclusive employer with the Rotary Employment Partnership.
