Youth Conference 2018: A Step Forward

Inclusion and social justice

A Step Forward, Inclusion Alberta Youth's second annual youth conference, will take place on November 16th (4:00pm to 9:15pm) and November 17th (8:00am to 4:30pm) at MacEwan University's Robbins Health Learning Centre (both days are meant to be attended together). All youth, including those with and without disabilities, who are between the ages of 16 and 22 and interested in activism, leadership, social justice, etc, are welcome to attend.

Throughout this interactive youth-driven conference, attendees will be given the opportunity to explore the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities, and learn some of the skills it takes to make that inclusion happen. The focus of this year's conference is how to build on social justice spaces, spaces which are already concerned with equity and justice, in order to fully include individuals with developmental disabilities.

Please check our Facebook page for the latest on workshops and updated conference information.

For both days, including food, the tickets are $25 (plus tax/fees) total. Cost shouldn't be a barrier, though. Please contact us if cost is standing in your way. Sales for overnight accommodation end October 14.
