Inclusion Facilitator – Edmonton

Inclusion Alberta is seeking a part-time (30hrs/ week) Inclusion Facilitator to support the education and inclusion of 13-year-old boy with intellectual disabilities in Edmonton, both at home and in school for the 2018-2019 school year. The Inclusion Facilitator will work cooperatively with the family, school administration and the classroom teacher to ensure the student is participating in learning activities at home and in school, and attend to all of his personal care needs. This is a 10 month contract position.


  • Support participation in an individually-prescribed learner support plan that will assist the child in acquiring the skills and education necessary for continued growth and development
  • Facilitate relationships amongst classmates by helping the child participate in a variety of learning activities, events, clubs, etc.
  • Help the child contribute to and benefit from the school community
  • Collaborate with the student support team
  • Regularly and actively engage in critical reflection and dialogue (both individually and as a team member) about inclusion


  • A commitment to inclusion (as demonstrated by one’s experiences, participation, and contributions to community)
  • A high level of professionalism
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaborative, networking, and organizational skills
  • Dedicated learner, reflective practitioner, and committed to one’s professional development
  • Provide support with personal care
  • Can work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Current Criminal Record and Child Welfare clearance is required and personal vehicle is a valuable asset
  • High School Diploma
