Community Development Coordinator (Recreation and Respite) (Full-time Temporary Maternity Leave) – Inclusion Lloydminster

Inclusion Lloydminster and Inclusion Alberta foster family leadership and advocacy in the pursuit of fully inclusive community lives for children and adults with developmental disabilities.  We are seeking an individual with excellent communication (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills to further our vision of inclusion within our inclusive recreation & respite initiatives.

RECREATION & RESPITE 

Supportive Communities, Strengthening Families (SCSF) initiative explores innovative ways to increase community inclusion for children (0 to 17) with developmental disabilities. The initiative supports children with disabilities to be included in community activities; provides a database for families to recruit and hire support staff to facilitate community inclusion; assists families in planning for an inclusive life; and develops partnerships to increase opportunities for inclusive recreation. 

Community Development Coordinators work directly with youth with developmental disabilities and their families to develop a vision for an inclusive life in community, including planning for adulthood, and creating a personalized and individualized action plan towards achieving this vision.

We are seeking an individual who is committed to the inclusion of persons with developmental disabilities in community life. The candidate will have excellent inter-personal and team work skills and a university or college education in disability studies or a related field.  Equivalencies will be considered.

This is a full-time maternity leave position (37.5 hours per week) for a 12 month term with the possibility of extension to 18 months.  Flexibility in scheduling is required. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Automobile required. Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted. Position is available immediately.
