Family Managed Supports (FMS) is increasing as a choice for those families (e.g., parents, brothers and sisters, etc.) who want to pursue creative and individualized options for their family member with developmental disabilities.

This session will provide an overview of FMS with examples of how families are utilizing FMS to establish and sustain a good life for their family member with developmental disabilities. There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with parents and other family members who are using FMS. This session will help you decide if FMS is right for you and what is required to use FMS successfully.

Presenters:

Billie Jack: Provincial Director of Advocacy & Community Engagement – Inclusion Alberta

Cherie Cardinal: Advocacy and Community Development Coordinator – Inclusion Alberta/Inclusion Wetaskiwin

Shawna Francis: Regional Coordinator of Inclusive Post-secondary Education – Inclusion Alberta
